The Maple Ridge Art Gallery wants artists to submit their work for the Ensemble 2012 show opening in November.

The submission process is open to everyone, and forms along with further information are available at the Maple Ridge Art Gallery website (www. theactmapleridge.org/gallery-submissions). Hard copies are available in the gallery and at the ticket centre at The ACT.

Artists are asked to submit work that suggests an "ensemble."

"This could be a shared theme, medium, or any series of works that suggests unity in its display," said Maple Ridge Art Gallery curator Barbara Duncan.

"The fact that the show includes all mediums tends to encourage a lot of variety and some unexpected and unusual items," she added. "The 'ensemble' display format works well in the capacious Maple Ridge Gallery where smaller works can sometimes be overwhelmed by the large volume of space."

The show also represents an opportunity to find a unique gift, and the relatively reasonable price point of many of these artworks offers visitors an affordable entry point to buying original work.

The opening reception for the Ensemble 2012 exhibition will be held on Saturday, Nov. 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. The gallery invites the public to join in the celebration of the Christmas season. Ensemble 2012 will be at the gallery until Dec. 20.

The deadline for submissions for Ensemble 2012 is Nov. 5.
