Dear Editor,
China is trying to buy Nexus Oil Company in Alberta. Wow, why haven't the alarm bells been going bonkers? They jolly well should be.
The ownership of Canada's raw products must stay in Canada. Offshore owners will be able to dictate terms apropos what they want to do.
And I am reasonably certain that what they'll want to do will not be in Canada's best interests.
How many other provinces have sold basic stuff such as oil and mines? There have been suggestions that our precious water can be sold to such as the U.S. Once the deal is done, would it be any surprise if the Great Lakes could in time be drained?
It would be bad enough for our water to be all gone, but the environmental damage will be disastrous.
Canada's oil, water, mines, and lumber companies should be held in Canada's hands. Period. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.
