A 10-year-old Harry Hooge Elementary student was taken to hospital Wednesday afternoon with what is believed to be a fractured ankle, after being struck by a car near his school.
The youngster was with a group of children walking home after school, at about 2:30 p.m., when he was struck by what police call a "slow moving" vehicle.
The accident occurred on 230th Street, just north of Dewdney Trunk Road.
Initial police reports indicate the accident was possibly caused by a pedestrian error.
