Police released the identity of another victim killed in a charter bus crash in Oregon last Sunday.

Oregon State Police identified the eighth fatality as Seokmin Moon, a 55-year-old man from Maple Ridge.

They also released the name of his wife, 53-year-old Choonja Moon, who is being treated at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Nine people were killed and 38 injured when the tour bus crashed through a guardrail and careened 200 feet down an embankment along Interstate 84 east of Pendleton six days ago.

The crash occurred near a spot on the interstate called Deadman Pass, at the top of a steep, 11-kilometre descent from the Blue Mountains as the bus was returning from a nine-day trip.

Though there were icy spots where the crash occurred, that was nothing unusual for this time of year, said Tom Strandberg, a spokesman for the Oregon Department of Transportation. He said a sanding truck had applied sand a few hours earlier and was behind the bus making another run when the crash occurred.
