MAPLE RIDGE
Where: Memorial Peace Park
When: 10: 50 a.m.
In Maple Ridge Remembrance Day ceremonies begin about 10 minutes before 11 a.m. at Memorial Peace Park. The colour parade takes place on Veterans Way, which runs along 224th Street from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 88 to Memorial Peace Park.
PITT MEADOWS
Where: Spirit Square
When: 10: 30 a.m.
In Pitt Meadows the event will be emceed by legionnaire Sandi Wight, the widow of a Korean War veteran, and takes place at the cenotaph at Spirit Square. There will be a procession, speeches, the singing of O Canada, and a two-minute silence in memory of those who've lost their lives in service to their country.
WHONNOCK
Where: Whonnock Lake Centre, 27871 113th Ave.
When: 11 a.m.
A wreath will be laid at two cairns that commemorate Whonnock residents who served in First World War, Second World War, and the Korean War. The wreath is laid by the Whonnock Community Association every year. Last year Jan and Betsy de Zeeuw joined Phil Johnson at a short memorial service in Whonnock.
