A man walked into a credit union and robbed it in Maple Ridge today.

Police were called to the Westminster Savings Credit Union, at 20201 Lougheed Hwy, after the robbery at about noon Thursday.

“A lone man entered and passed a note informing the teller he wanted cash. He was handed an undisclosed amount of money, and he walked out,” a spokesperson for Ridge Meadows RCMP said.

He did not brandish a weapon.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, 25 to 35 years, 5’6” to 5’8”, about 220 pounds with a stocky build.

He was wearing a dark blue and red striped baseball hat, with a Los Angeles Dodgers logo (LA) in red, a black jacket with a white logo on the left side, a black B.C. Lions T-shirt, and shorts with a floral pattern.

The investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information in regards to a crime is asked to contact Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251.
