An 75-year-old man fell to his death from a second-storey balcony in Maple Ridge this weekend.

Ridge Meadows RCMP confirmed the incident occurred at Willow Manor in downtown Maple Ridge on Saturday morning.

Mounties were called in the seniors facility in the 12200 block of 224th Street just before 11 a.m.

The fatal fall is not suspicious, and RCMP will not be investigating. The case has been turned over to the B.C. Coroners Service.

"This appears to be a very, very unfortunate accident," said a RCMP spokesman.
