A trip to Las Vegas paid off for two young hockey players.

A pair of 10-year-old hockey players helped their team strike gold in Las Vegas recently.

Maple Ridge hockey players Tyson Phare and Eric Clark, both 10, are back home after helping the Vancouver All Stars 2002 win gold at the North American AAA Champions Cup at the world-famous Nevada city.

Phare, a defenceman, and Clark, a goaltender, were part of the Vancouver team that went undefeated in the atom/squirt minor division in Vegas.

The all-stars from Vancouver beat the team favoured to win, the Minnesota Machine, 6-2 in the final.
