Brayden Gant’s second-team nomination is his first honour at the CIS level.

Trinity Western University co-captain Brayden Gant was the lone Spartans men’s soccer player or coach honoured at the CIS banquet.

The second-year midfielder from Maple Ridge earned a CIS second team all-Canadian nomination Wednesday.

For Gant, who was named a Canada West first team all-Star, it’s his first honour at the CIS level.

Last year, he named a Canada West second team all-star.

Spartans coach Pat Rohla was named Canada West coach of the year but was bested at the national level by UNB’s Miles Pinsent.
