Pitt Meadows Marauders junior boys basketball team are the 2013 Fraser Valley champions.
The team defeated Port Moodys Heritage Woods 48-46 in overtime on Saturday night in front of a boisterous but small but boisterous Pitt Meadows contingent of fans.
With two minutes to go the team was down seven points but Graham Smith was aided by Anthony Emmott and Jordan Murley to bring the game back into Marauder hands and go onto OT. Smith scored 18.
A big three-pointer by Mark Ashamalla gave Pitt the go ahead points which it held on to win by two points.
Most valuable player named was Smith, and the all-stars were Zach Hetherington and Murley.
This is the sixth time since 2001-2002 that Pitt Meadows has made the final of what is considered the hardest tournament to win in the Fraser Valley and come away with the championship.
The team will now prepare for the junior provincials at Vancouver College March 6 to 9.
