About 4,000 soccer players will benefit from a raffle that kicked off on Tuesday.

The West Coast Auto Group Football Club launched its first ever car raffle at West Coast Ford Lincoln in Maple Ridge.

Books of three tickets each will sell for $10.

“When all the tickets are sold, $100,000 will have been made with the proceeds going to offset the cost of registration of all club players,” said WCAGFC president Chris Begg.

Pitt Meadows Mayor Walters and Maple Ridge’s Mayor Daykin recieved the first set of raffle tickets from the numbered series.

“It’s a partnership towards benefitting the kids in Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge. I think that is what’s most exciting, our ability to provide programs for all skill levels within our membership,” said Walters.

“We have 4,000 kids registered in Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge and this will benefit so many people in our community,” added Walters.

The winner of the raffle, which will be drawn Dec. 15, will have his or her choice of one of four vehicles valued at $25,000: 2012 Toyota Corolla Sport, 2012 Mazda 3 Sport GS, 2012 Nissan Sentra SL, or a 2012 Ford Focus SE.

Four other winners will also be rewarded with other prizes including a 50-inch flat screen TV, Whitecaps season tickets, and more.

Tickets are available through WCAGFC teams, WCAGFC board and staff members, and on sale at all West Coast Auto Group dealerships.
