Two sisters from Maple Ridge were on target at the Canadian National Pistol Championships, held recently in Calgary, Alta.

Emily and Erin Beckett both made it into the finals in the in the international juniors’ division.

In the finals, Emily won gold while Erin garnered a bronze medal.

Emily explained that during the event, competitors shoot two rounds of 40 shots and then the top eight in each category moves on to finals, which is just 10 shots that are called out, one-by-one.

“There is a lot more excitement about it,” Emily said.

The sisters train at a the Maple Ridge Pentathlon club in Maple Ridge.
