Three Olympians will be at the Pitt Meadows Paddling Club for “Loonies in the Booonies” – a fun regatta that on the Alouette River on Nov. 10.

Hugues Fournel, Mark Oldershaw, and Brady Reardon – all Olympians – will take part in the regatta as a break from a Canoe Kayak BC training camp taking place in Burnaby.

Pitt Meadows Paddling Club commodore Rick Hammer said the public is invited to come and watch the Loonies in the Boonies event, which was named by a local athlete.

“We’re a little nuts to be paddling in November,” Hammer said, referring to why the event was given its name.
