Pitt Meadows Secondary senior boys team won the basketball invitational it hosted on the weekend.

Marauders Air Force recorded 29 assists on the way to their fourth consecutive Air Show invitational senior boys championship over Sir Winston Churchill Bulldogs. The final score was 83-69.

“Quite a feat considering a field of team who had beaten the Marauders in the early season and were ranked higher,” said head coach Rich Goulet.

Most valuable player Sebastien Marshall had 34 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists in the final game.

All-star Jordan Rich had 23 points, 16 rebounds, four blocks, and seven assists. Sho Nashimoto continued to show that he could run the Marauder team at point guard hauling in Pitt’s third all-star. Standouts Mindy Minhas and Jesse Mushiana were selected to the all-star team.

Previously, the Marauders beat the Mount Boucherie Bears 80-59. Led by Rich with 20 points and 11 rebounds and Marshall and Alejandro Canjura with 14 points each.

It was a romp over the Cowichan Thunderbirds 85-42. Rich had 22 points. Marshall earned 13 and Canjura had 11.

Pitt then subdued a feisty AA Brentwood College team 73-68 led by Marshall’s 22 points and 11 rebounds. Rich had 12 points and 12 rebounds. Canjura had 18 points.

The Marauders play Port Coquitlam’s Riverside Ripids in league on Tuesday and then move on to the Vancouver College Emerald Tournament where they will face Kelowna on Thursday night.
