Lyndon Knuttila, who plays attack on the boy’s elite team, has received a Burnaby Mountain Selects Scholar Athlete Award.

Brent Hoskins, men’s lacrosse coach at Simon Fraser University and executive director of the Burnaby Mountain Lacrosse Elite Development Program, selected the Thomas Haney Secondary student for the award.

Established in 2010, the Scholar Athlete Awards were developed to celebrate academic achievement and on-field excellence for each scholastic year.

This year’s awards recognize a program high of 85 student-athletes who competed in the fall 2011 and/or summer 2012 BMS Elite Touring Program and achieved an academic average of 80 per cent or higher for the 2011-2012 school year.
