The friends and families of a local boys hockey team really want you to vote.
Ridge Meadows C3 Peewee Hurricanes team rose from second to first in the online Stagg Chili contest after the first announcement in The TIMES, according to one hockey mom.
"It's been great," said Gina Salar-Arefi, mom to Daniel.
The 11-and 12-year-old boys were neck and neck with another team but every vote has counted.
Stagg Chili will give the top five teams in the west and the top five teams in the east the chance to win up to $3,000.
Through the course of the 2012/13 regular hockey season, the makers of Stagg Chili will contribute $1 for every save made by every goalie in every Ontario Hockey League and Western Hockey League game.
"I just wanted to include the community into this. I thought that everybody should be just as proud as us," said Salar-Arefi.
"Our kids are really excited about this," she added.
