Science to restore depleted river

In last week's column, fly fisherman Jeff Weltz wrote about the famous Thompson River. While noted as a one-of-a-kind fishery, it is also a river of much controversy.

At best, the Thompson is open to fishing for six months of the year, at worst only three. Of those possible six months, a classified-waters permit and steelhead license are required to fish the last three months, even if you intend to release all your fish.

Knights weekend football report

Peewee Blue Knights football team beat the Chilliwack Red 26-0.

The Peewee Gold Knights lost 8-0 to the Abbotsford Falcons in a physical defensive battle.

The Junior Bantams celebrated their first shutout game against the Chilliwack Red 16-0.

The Atom Knights beat the Chilliwack White winning with 38-6.

The Bantam Knights played Chilliwack and lost 7-45.

The Midget Knights had a close game against Chilliwack with a loss of 14-17.
