Two of the Ridge Meadows Bruins Rugby Club's teams were in action this past weekend.

In their second week of BC Rugby Union play, the Bruins Men's team faced off against the Meraloma Athletic Club of Vancouver. At the end of the first half, the score was 13-5 for the Meralomas.

As the second half began, the more experienced Loma's began to capitalize on their chances, and front-row injuries troubled the Bruins.

The final score was 47-5 for the Meralomas.

The Bruins' lone try was scored by Connor Epp.

Next up, the squad faces Bayside in the Bruins' home opener.

On Sunday, the U-17 Men's team faced off on home soil against the Bayside Sharks from White Rock.

The visitors were sharp, and the hometown Bruins were unable to get any phases going, resulting in a 40-0 loss.

Next up for the U-17s is Richmond RFC.

Bruins men's and women's teams practice at Merkley Park at 7:30 Tuesday evenings, and 7:30 at Westview Secondary School on Thursdays. New members are always welcome. Potential players are encouraged to contact sukhi@bruinsrugbyclub.com (Youth, and Mens), as well as Alison@bruinsrugbyclub.com (Womens)
