Two Ridge Meadows Bruins Rugby Club’s teams were in action this weekend.
The men’s squad took on the Chilliwack Crusaders on home turf. After a two-week break from play the team looked slow to start, however as the game went on the Bruins pulled it together with the backline leading the team by their strong play.
The Bruins proved to be too much for the visiting team and came away with a 24-5 victory.
Scoring tries for the Bruins were Rogan East, Julian Benvenuti, Reed Nelson, and Connor Epp.
Paul Stanfield proved to be successful on two conversion kicks.
Next up for the men’s team is Abbotsford RFC.
The Lady Bruins made the trip up to the Okanagan for a game against the Kelowna Crows.
The Lady Bruins didn’t win the match, however morale was high as weeks of intense training is beginning to payoff for the squad.
Next up for the Lady Bruins is UBC.
