A 53-year-old man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant is suspected of stealing a car in Pitt Meadows Monday morning.
Police believe Barrie Quirt Friesen, who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for a parole violation, is driving somewhere in the Lower Mainland, possibly to the Abbotsford or Chilliwack area in a silver 2005 Honda Civic, that had B.C. plates 239 RPG on it at the time of the theft.
Friesen is described as Caucasian, five-feet, nineinches tall, and weighing 177 pounds. He has brown and grey hair, and blue eyes.
According to Ridge Meadows RCMP Cpl. Alanna Dunlop, Friesen has several tattoos - the more noticeable ones are "Katrina" on his left wrist, a panther on his right upper arm, a dagger and snake on his right forearm, the name "Cindy" with flowers on the left forearm, and "City of Angels" on his left wrist. He has been known to use the alias of Bailey Danes.
"Police believe he is travelling alone, but Friesen is very convincing and can befriend innocent people quickly, targeting women," said Dunlop.
He has a criminal record for violence, including assault and robbery, along with driving offences, such as impaired driving and driving while prohibited.
Anyone who sees Friesen is asked to not approach him, but to contact police. Anyone with information in regards to a crime is asked to contact Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251. To remain anonymous, call CrimeStoppers at 1800222-8477 or leave a tip online at www.bccrimestoppers.com.
