Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Arts Council received a grant from Westminster Savings of $14,000 to help with its Arts Angels program. Arts Angels allows youth to access programs at The ACT at a subsidized rate and sometimes provides free tickets to performances for those who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford to take part. The funding will allow more than 800 students from local schools to take part in a variety of arts programming and attend performances at The ACT. Four schools locked down

As of Monday afternoon, Ridge Meadows RCMP were still hunting for Quigley, the man suspected in a break-and-enter and for causing a lockdown at a local elementary school on Thursday.

Mounties were out in full force Wednesday night, with a large contingent of volunteers expected to augment their Halloween patrols. Just at press deadline late Wednesday afternoon, a troupe of RCMP officers, auxiliary constables, Citizen on Patrol volunteers, and Citizens on Bike members were being dispatched to the streets, schools, parks, and other high-traffic areas.
