As of noon today (Friday), the evacuation alert on 43 properties on Wharf Street in Maple Ridge was lifted.

On Wednesday, Pitt Meadows also lifted its evacuation alert on eight properties, all of which were outside the diking area.

A high streamflow advisory, however, is still in place on the lower Fraser River as the water today (Friday) was at 6.15 metres at the Mission gauge.

The BC River Forecast Centre is anticipating the river to rise to between 6.3 and 6.4 this weekend at the Mission gauge.

Pitt Meadows continues to perform daily dike patrols and will keep a low level virtual Emergency Operations Centre in support of field crews active throughout the long weekend.

Residents are reminded to use extreme caution around watercourses and obey cautionary signage and emergency personnel.

In case of an emergency call 911 or the Pitt Meadows after-hours public works dispatch line at 604-465-2465.

These lines are for emergencies only and should not be used for general enquiries.

For updates on the river situation, go to www.mapleridge.ca and www.pittmeadows.bc.ca.
