Maple Ridge native Allison Campbell, rising senior for the University of Maryland Terrapins water polo team, visited the White House in Washington, D.C. recently.
Campbell met with U.S. vice-president Joe Biden for a screening of a new public service announcement to help raise awareness about dating violence prevention that will air on ESPN this summer.
Campbell, newly elected co-captain of the Terps for the 2013 season and three-time team MVP, was part of a group of Terrapin Athletes chosen to represent the University of Maryland athletics department that joined forces with Biden to deliver the message that dating violence is unacceptable.
The public service announcement, based on Biden's 1 is 2 Many campaign, features such notables as U.S. President Barrack Obama, Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning, soccer superstar David Beckham, and New York Nicks phenon Jeremy Lin.
