Organizers of the annual Ridge Meadows Quilters Guild are elated. Their show this weekend attracted a larger than expected crowd.
the ladies were delighted, said one of the guild participants Val Patenaude.
We had a huge turnout around 800 people when we thought the absolute maximum would be 500, she said, thanking The TIMES and noting the advance publicity in the community newspaper undoubtedly made a huge difference to attendance.
The show was held at the Burnett Fellowship Baptist Church in Maple Ridge on Friday and Saturday, featuring the works of many of the guilds 70-plus quilters.
The group meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m., at St. Georges Anglican Church, 23500 Dewdney Trunk Rd. in Maple Ridge.
