Police are looking for a man who they say approached a young women early Friday morning and forced her to touch him sexually.
Ridge Meadows RCMP are reporting that the man approached the woman in the area of 216th Street and Lougheed Highway between 1 and 1:20 a.m. early this morning (Friday).
The suspect exposed himself and forced her into touching him sexually.
The woman then immediately ran away and sought help while the suspect walked away. He was last seen in the 21500 block of Cherrington Avenue.
The suspect is described as a male approximately 6 feet tall, in his 20s, with a slim to medium build.
He was wearing a blue and grey striped hooded sweatshirt resembling a Mexican poncho with a front pouch, dark coloured pants, and running shoes.
We are working diligently on trying to identify who this suspect may be, and our serious crimes unit is fully engaged, Said Inspector David Fleugel with the Ridge Meadows RCMP. This incident occurred in the early morning hours when there are very few people out, which appears something the suspect took advantage of. To that end, investigators are looking for any area video surveillance to see if a suspect can be identified that way.
Police want the public, in particular our female citizens, to be aware of this incident, Fleugel added. Be alert to your surroundings when outside, especially at night.
