Ridge Meadows Home Show organizer Cass Winder said that it was 2 oclock in the morning when she finally wrapped up from Friday nights home show and checked her Facebook comments.
It read: Wow, what a home show!
I think that is why we are doing this, is to get that kind of response, said Winder.
The weather is perfect. All of our exhibitors are here. There are several thousand people here right now at this moment [3 p.m.] spread out at a very large and very fun site, she added.
A little excitement came from a dust devil or mini tornado, which blew through the park and picked up tents and flipped them over, according to Trevor Haqq of Bishops Centre.
We had papers and cushions everywhere, he said, adding that it picked up the Meridian tent and landed it near some picnic tables a few yards away.
A couple people got hurt, but minor only luckily, Haqq added.
There is always room for improvement, but I think overall we are all pretty happy with the way things are going and with the response from our community, she
The Ridge Meadows Home Show started Friday, runs today until 8 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission is $4 per person or $7 for a family.
