Two men have been arrested for separate cases involving sexual offences – one against a teenage girl and the other against a male victim.

In the first instance, Mounties arrested 24-year-old Russell Thomas Lamb from Squamish on multiple charges related to sexual offences against a 15-year-old girl from Maple Ridge.

“What is particularly alarming in the case is the fact Mr. Lamb is currently on a probation order from Squamish, B.C. after being convicted of a sex offence against a 15-year-old female victim in that community,” said Ridge Meadows RCMP Insp. David Fleugel.

“Our investigation involves a teenaged female Lamb met, and befriended, while in our community. This was not a random stranger attack. Lamb appeared in provincial court on Friday, and has been remanded until Monday, when he will make his next appearance via video conference,” the inspector added.

In the second instance, police are recommending charges against 61-year-old Maple Ridge resident Richard Elbertson Richardson.

Police allege Richardson sexually assaulted a 38-year-old man in September 2012.

“Mr. Richardson is well known to Ridge Meadows RCMP officers. He has a criminal record for convictions of similar occurrences, and is on probation for one of those convictions,” said Cpl. Alanna Dunlop.

Police are recommending charges of failing to abide by a probation order in addition to the sexual assault charge.

Richardson appeared in Port Coquitlam Provincial Court on Friday, Sept. 14, where he was remanded in custody until Tuesday, Sept. 18.
