After several good reviews in Canada, the U.S.A., and the United Kingdom, Whonnock writer Cathy Ace will be holding a book signing of her novel The Corpse with the Silver Tongue in Maple Ridge.

On July 14, Ace will be at Black Bond Books in Haney Place Mall signing copies of her novel, a murder mystery featuring Welsh-Canadian heroine Cait Morgan.

After a favourable review in a major Canadian newspaper, Ace's book was also favourably reviewed by the Library Journal, which goes to all public libraries in the U.S.A.

"Why was this so important? Well, firstly it was an excellent review, but, secondly, the U.S. public library system is bigger than the entire Canadian book industry, so it can make a huge difference to sales," Ace said.

The book, which was launched in April, has been well received both internationally and locally.

"A few weeks after the launch, Maple Ridge Library even sent someone to Black Bond Books to buy more copies because the book was in so much demand," Ace said.

Ace went to the United Kingdom - she is originally from Wales - earlier this month for the U.K. launch, which she said was also "very well received."

The book launch will take place on July 14 from 1: 30 to 3 p.m. at Black Bond Books in Haney Place Mall.
