Wayne Clark: Lucky to live in Canada

Dear Editor,

To clear up the confusion in Mr. Clark’s mind, he lives in Canada, not to be confused with the U.S. or Europe [Iceland jailed CEOs, saved economy, Oct. 18 Letters, TIMES]

Canada’s is the 10th largest economy in the world, and is one of the wealthiest.

Canada has the strongest economy in the G8, due to good government. Canada has a well-regulated banking system and stringent consumer-protection laws. Canada’s banks are well diversified and managed.

Canada has never had the major scandals of Iceland, nor have we been on the verge of bankruptcy.

The U.S. jailed many CEOs and bailed out businesses and banks. Their economy is still dismal, due in part to President Barack Obama’s failed policies.

A record number of Americans are applying to emigrate to Canada. Mr. Clark should be grateful he lives in Canada, relative to the rest of the world.
