During a visit to the cooperative market in Panama, Ruskin resident Betsy Van Herwaarden (above) visited with a Kuna native during a tour of the country. She had a picture taken holding a copy of their hometown newspaper, The TIMES. The long-time Maple Ridge resident – who has been profiled in the TIMES Travellers at least eight times through the years, is off soon for a month-long tour of India, promising to bring back more Traveller photographs.

In the meantime, Maple Ridge’s Sherryl and Terry Hansen (left) recently had their picture taken in front of a number of colourful pinatas during a break from beach activities in Costa Azul, just south of San Jose Del Cabo on the Baja Penninsula in Mexico.

Maple Ridge’s Sharon and Aaron Evans had a picture taken holding a copy of their hometown newspaper, The TIMES,  in front of the Skytower in Auckland, New Zealand. Sharon and her husband Ron went to visit their 25-year-old son, who completed his undergrad degree at the University of Victoria and will be completing his master’s degree at the Auckland Technical University this spring. Born and raised in Maple Ridge, Aaron is researching squid, and hopes to remain Down Under as a teaching assistant until June.

Two Maple Ridge couples, Barry and Katherine Charron and Bev and Brian Rioux, recently returned from a 10-day Caribbean cruise. Sapphrine Beach on the island of St. Thomas is where they chose to pose for a photograph holding a copy of their hometown newspaper, The TIMES.

Aye and Sony Sadana of Pitt Meadows (above) posed with The TIMES oustside Times Square in Hong Kong. They were vacationing in Hong Kong for a week before Christmas, and are heading to Thailand and the Philippines later this year, promising more pictures.
