Perhaps Gordy Robson should visit the schools in School District No. 42 to see for himself that teachers do not "refuse education" [Check out the offer, Feb. 5 Just Saying, TIMES]. There he will find that teachers are the BCTF, and that they embrace education in a very positive way.

The BCTF, in fact, did look at the 10-year agreement and examined it very carefully in the hours they were given before the public announcement, and are still looking at it.

You may remember that Justice Griffin of the Supreme Court of B.C. determined that the government was "less than honest" in its dealings with the teachers of B.C., which may be one of the reasons the BCTF is wary of any agreement spanning 10 years, which in effect depends on third parties bargaining for them.
