And now it's possible to find out what Maple Ridge librarians and other library staff are reading. A monthly staff picks list is published on the Fraser Valley Regional Library website listing what staff are reading and linking to a description of the books and where to reserve them.

"People are always intrigued - what do librarians really read," said Jo-Ann Sleiman, community librarian at the Maple Ridge branch.

The library, which has integrated a lot of technology into its offering - from eBooks to audio books - has changed its format for searches, going from a database catalogue to a system called BiblioCommons, which allows for social media lists.

To find the Library Staff Picks, go to www.fvrl.bc.ca and from the drop down box at the top left, click on Lists and type in "Maple Ridge staff picks."
