Before buying my new home in Haney last month, I spent some time shopping around in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.
Now admittedly, I could never afford any of the grand, luxury homes this community has to offer on a reporter's salary. But it doesn't stop a girl from dreaming, or looking - for that matter.
Have you taken a peek at the Silver Ridge homes, for instance, tucked up against the greenbelt in the Silver Valley neighbourhood in northeast Maple Ridge?
Well obviously, they're worth a look, because the awards keep piling up for Portrait Homes and the 145-acre planned community they've been constructing since 2004.
The latest accolades came from the Urban Development Institute, which bestowed the award of excellence for best planned community.
"We are honoured by the recognition from within the industry," says Portrait principal Rob Grimm. "We will continue to strive for excellence in the homes we build and the customer service we provide."
This development, made up of West Coast alpine-inspired single-family homes, has earned Portrait Homes an unprecedented total of 114 awards, including 27 gold Georgies.
That's a pretty impressive tally.
