Rescue crews chip trees

There are four days to get a Christmas tree chipped locally - Jan. 4, 5, 12, and 13

Two local organizations are working together to raise money.

Ridge Meadows Search & Rescue and the 1st Haney Rovers are holding a series of tree chipping days.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 4, 5, 12, and 13, trees can be brought to the local search and rescue headquarters at 23598 105th Ave (beside Planet Ice.)

Last year the two groups made thousands of dollars and split everything 50/50. Search and rescue spent its money on new search and rescue equipment.

Chipping is by donation. Curbside pickup is done by 1st Haney Rovers for a minimum $10 fee.

Email name and address to scoutchipping@gmail.com for pickup or call 604244-2850.
