Cubs of 1st Haney Scout Group Pack A participated in the annual Three Rivers Area Kub Kar Rally recently.
The kids spent a lot of time and used their creativity to come up with some super designs and are already thinking up new creations for next year, said Jason "Chil" Buck, dad and pack leader.
"I'm immensely proud of the Cubs of our pack this year. Not only did they show good sportsmanship, our Cubs also earned 10 trophies including the big one for 1st Over All Speed, a first time for us since I've been with the pack," said Buck.
The Kub Kar Rally is an annual racing event for Cub Scouts across Canada. Cub Scouts, with the help of parents and leaders, use their creativity to design and build their own cars from wood, using a standard Kub Kar kit containing a block of pine, plastic wheels, and metal nails for axles.
The Three Rivers Area, (Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge and Mission), Kub Kar Rally took place at the Albion Fairgrounds in February with more than 100 Kub Kars from 12 Cub packs.
