Nine drivers are off the roads after failing roadside-sobriety tests on the weekend.

Police are working to make the roads safer, said Ridge Meadows RCMP Cpl. Alanna Dunlop.

“Ridge Meadows RCMP continue to take drinking drivers off our roads, making it safer for everyone. If you do drink, plan to not drive. Arrange to have a designated driver, take transit home, or take a cab,” Dunlop said.

Alcohol affects people in different ways due to diet, fatigue, or drinking habits.

“Remember you can be legally impaired even with a blood alcohol content below 0.08 per cent,” the corporal said.

There was also one driver who was found driving while his driving privileges were prohibited.
