Mounties are on the hunt for an armed bandit who robbed the Shoppers Drug Mart in west Maple Ridge Monday night.
The heist occurred at about 6: 30 p.m., when the man approached a cashier, produced a weapon, and demanded money, said RCMP Cpl. Alanna Dunlop.
"He was given an undisclosed amount of cash before he walked out of the store," Dunlop said.
By releasing a photograph from the company's surveillance cameras, police are hoping the public can help identify the man and ultimately solve the case, she elaborated.
The man was last seen walking eastbound through the laneway directly north of the drug store.
He is described as a Caucasian man in his mid 40s. He stood about 5 ft. 9 in. tall, and weighs between 165 and 180 pounds. He had grey sideburns, and was wearing a light green jacket, blue jeans, brown shoes, a black or dark blue toque, and sunglasses.
Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect is asked to call Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251. To remain anonymous, people can call CrimeStoppers at 1800-222-8477, or leave a tip online at www. bccrimestoppers.com.
