Police seized crack cocaine and ecstacy and will be recommending drug charges against a 41-year-old woman after the search of a Maple Ridge home.
Police also seized imitation firearms and other weapons at a house in the 12200 block of 228th Street just after 6 p.m. on Jan. 28.
Police seized quantities of what they believe to be crack cocaine, ecstasy, and cash suspected of being proceeds of criminal activity.
“This home has been watched by the street enforcement unit for some time now, and they were very successful in gaining grounds for the search warrant,” said Ridge Meadows RCMP Cpl. Alanna Dunlop.
“A 41-year-old woman was arrested and later released. Investigators will be recommending charges regarding the sale and distribution of illegal drugs, and this will be forwarded to crown counsel in due course,” she added.
“What is particularly alarming is this home is situated in amongst single family dwelling homes, with a neighbourhood park right next door. Both crack cocaine and ecstacy are serious street level drugs. With ecstacy there is no safe dosage when taking these pills. Even a single use can lead to serious illness or death,” the corporal said.
This matter remains under investigation.
