Pitt Meadows will turn 100 on April 25, 2014, and the City wants to involve all events throughout the year.

“We want to see the 100th anniversary built into everything that happens [in 2014],” said Pitt Meadows Mayor Deb Walters.

The Centennial Celebration Committee is about planning to help build excitement and promote opportunities for residents, business, agencies, and event groups to take part in this landmark celebration. The celebration committee will encompass about 25 community groups.

With 2014 fast approaching, the excitement will begin to mount, explained Lorna Jones, director of Human Resources and Communications.

“Pitt Meadows has a rich history in terms of volunteerism and we are certain that local volunteers would come forward eager to participate on the planning committee and in specific activities,” Jones added.
