Historian and blacksmith Jeff Chenatte (left) of Maple Ridge with well-known retired blacksmith John Adolph - also of Maple Ridge - stood in front of the forge at the Pitt Meadows Museum Hoffmann shop during a recent blacksmithing workshop led by Chenatte.
Harlem Globetrotter's point guard Dizzy Grant visited Meadowridge School last week to share an anti-bullying lesson with the students. His visit meant a lot to the kids, of all ages, said elementary principal Terry Jung.
Downtown Maple Ridge BIA executive director Ineke Boekhorst (far left), Minister of Jobs, Tourism, and Skills Training Pat Bell, and Sandy Blue with Maple Ridge's economic development office gathered with Maple Ridge-Mission MLA Marc Dalton recently - during an open house at the MLA's office - to discuss jobs.
Four-year-old Campbell Coles-Lyster peaked out from behind her mom, Nona Coles. Campbell, her mother, sister Kaelen, 10, and Darren Durupt were among those who attended the recent announcement of more than $1.46 million for biking infrastructure at the Local Ride Bike Shop in Maple Ridge.
The recent Pitt Meadows Seniors Centre opening had a large turnout including Pitt Meadows Councillors Tracy Miyashita and Janis Elkerton, as well as Wesbrooke owners Pat and Celeste DeLuca, Coun. Gwen O'Connell, MayorDeb Walters, City CAO Jake Rudolph, and Councillors Doug Bing and Bruce Bell.
Maple Ridge volunteer Majid Mahichi (right) was honoured and humbled to be one of the most recent recipients of a Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal, which was presented to him by MP Randy Kamp.
