Although the sunshine of late has lulled locals into believing winter is almost over – and the number of walkers out traversing the local trails reinforces the groundhog’s prediction that spring is near – the snowcapped peaks of the Golden Ears and surrounding mountainous terrain and the fog lying low in parts of the valley serve to remind us that the cooler season has not yet passed.
