A Ridge Meadows RCMP officer changed roles early Thursday morning, and put out a fire that was in front of Fire Hall #3.

The officer was patrolling near the 203rd Street hall around 3 a.m. on Nov. 29, when a citizen notified him of the fire.

"The officer used a fire extinguisher to put out the blaze, which appears to be suspicious in nature," said Cpl.Alanna Dunlop.

"The fire hall was not damaged, and the incident is under investigation by both Maple Ridge Fire Department and Ridge Meadows RCMP," she added.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact either the police at 604-463-6251, or Maple Ridge Fire Department at 604-463-5880.
