Plans to redevelop Northumberland Court have been abandoned by the proponent and District of Maple Ridge staff say that the file should be closed.
“This is very disappointing,” said Maple Ridge Mayor Ernie Daykin at Tuesday’s council meeting where a status report on the application was dealt with.
Northumberland Court was torn down about two years ago, and the owner was planning to build townhouses on the property.
The development received first reading by council almost two years ago.
However, according to a District staff report, all communication with the District’s planning department has ended, and the architect is no longer working for the applicant.
If the proponent doesn’t respond by mid November, staff say they will close the application.
