Haney Inkslinger, she calls herself, but Mudslinger would be a much more appropriate name.
When writing about the resignation of various politicians [Ministers all in family way, Sept. 4 Haney Inkslinger, TIMES], your columnist makes it sound as if it's a sin to give the reasons they did for resigning.
What do you expect them to say? "I'm getting off the sinking ship?" Or, "If the opposition wins the next election and I am re-elected, I couldn't take it to sit in opposition?"
Why would you care anyway? The only reason they have to give an answer at all is because the media hounds them for it. They are quitting and it's their own decision to make and nobody else's business.
And why bring Marc Dalton into this rant? Are you trying to goad him into saying something (anything) at all? Why should he? Just to stroke your ego maybe?
Yes, the more I think about it, the more I think that, instead of Haney Inkslinger, she should be calling herself Haney Mudslinger.
