Dear Editor,
Our mayor in Pitt Meadows is showing that she has picked up how to play the game of politics.
At a previous budget meeting, there was an overflow crowd of concerned citizens who were unhappy about our property tax increases.
So when does the mayor and her crew on council schedule the next meeting? Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 5 p.m.
No surprise that only a handful of residents attended the budget open house, seeing as anyone who works would be stuck in rush-hour traffic.
I guess that, based on the turnout, the mayor and council will assume that the residents of Pitt Meadows have lost interest in the budget. They are wrong, but we'll have to wait and see what the next political roadblock will be.
Maybe they could have the next meeting at 2 a.m. That way we could attend the meeting before going to work?
