Pitt Meadows Meats was in Port Coquitlam Provincial Court Tuesday facing 11 counts of “selling articles of food unfit for human consumption,” according to court records.

The charges date back to September 2010 when the Canadian Food Inspection Agency launched an investigation into positive E. coli tests. The plant’s operations were shut down for about a month at that time.

They will be back in court on Feb. 4 to fix a date for a trial.
