Maple Ridge councillor Corisa Bell was elected last week to the Fraser Valley Regional Library board and will serve as an alternate InterLink representative. Ron Smith of the District of Hope is the main representative of for the InterLink program.

Both the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows libraries belong to the Fraser Valley Regional Library system.

The Fraser Valley Regional Library’s InterLink allows library users to borrow books throughout the Fraser Valley and Greater Vancouver and return them to any library.

“What we want to do is have as much available [material] to the residents of B.C. as possible,” said Rob O’Brennan, CEO of Fraser Valley Regional Library.

The InterLink program covers the Fraser Valley, Greater Vancouver, and areas up to Pemberton and Lillooet.

Grant Ward of the Township of Langley will continue for the second term as chair of the board, Michael Wright, a councillor from Port Coquitlam, will be vice-chair, Helen Fathers of White Rock is treasurer, and Jeannie Kanakos of Delta will the representative to the BC Library Trustees Association.
