Ideological argument lacking in credibility

Dear Editor,

Wayne Clark writes, "We all know people who never seem to learn the lessons, not only from their own mistakes but other people's mistakes either."

[Tough-on-crime policy doesn't pay, Oct. 25 Letters, TIMES]

He writes, "Mr. Harper is guided more by ideology and keeping his 'Religi-Con' base happy." Persisting in bigoted statements reveals ignorance and an inability to learn tolerance. Mr. Clark is stuck in a time warp and is fossilized there.

It's so tiresome to keep educating Mr. Clark on this matter, but there are people of all faiths, beliefs, and unbelief in all segments of society and all the political parties. People lose all credibility in any debate when they have to resort to name calling and bigotry in their arguments.
