Carshill Street, a well-manicured neighbourhood with established homes on the skirt of downtown Maple Ridge, was the scene of a possible homicide this week.
"An autopsy was performed yesterday but findings have not been concluded," said Sgt. Jennifer Pound, spokesperson for the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.
Monday morning at about 2: 15 a.m. police responded to a 911 call that was placed by someone in the home at 11704 Carshill St.
"Medical personnel performed CPR on the 59-yearold resident of the home, but despite all attempts to revive him the victim was pronounced deceased a short time later," said Pound.
According to a long-time Ph neighbour, who refused to On give her name, the deceased is Henry Braun, a husband to Dianne and father of three. He lived in the Haney home for more than 20 years.
"We need to wait for a pathology report," Pound said.
"There has been public speculation of what the cause of death was, but ultimately those findings will have to be confirmed by the pathologist," she added.
"It appears that the victim may have been involved in some sort of domestic incident prior to his death. Investigators are attempting to determine the relevance of this incident and any connections it may have with his death."
IHIT will continue to investigate this as a homicide "until evidence suggests otherwise," Pound concluded.
There have been no arrests made.
