A grass fire in Albion caused delays to Friday afternoon traffic.
Cars were diverted as the fire burned on the northwest corner of 240th Street and Kanaka Creek Way on Friday afternoon, said assistant fire chief Timo Juurakko.
Maple Ridge firefighters responded with four trucks and about 20 members, and were able to douse the fire fairly quickly, he explained.
The fire grew to about 100 feet square, but given rising winds and its proximity to trees, firefighters were concerned..
